Brown has been described as an awesome looking dude and i suppose he is, but my mental image of him is as a sixth former with bumfluff on his face and horrifying his mother by refusing to cut his hair. Alaric is an occupational therapist and is a shining beacon in our failing mental health service.

John and Della

John was my PhD supervisor and now describes himself as my 'critical friend'. Amazingly enough for a man who once earned a living as a P.E. teacher, he is terrifically nice and is known by Brown and me to be a happy humanist. He was the best supervisor that money could buy, only I didn't have any money so he fed me pizza and gave me food parcels. John has many good ideas but not enough time to implement them, so Brown and I try to instead.

Della is John's wife and she is also a happy humanist who used to be a P.E. teacher and then became an academic. I did not know that P.E. teachers with brains and kindness existed, but John and Della are living proof.
